43 lbs lost, still more to go.

January 2013 I started eating Paleo. For those unfamiliar with is, its a low carb diet. You eat, meat, veggies and limited fruits. No grains, legumes, dairy etc. Google it to read more about it.

From January to May I was doing really well. I lost 38 lbs! My boyfriend and I broke up and I didn't keep up with it. Luckily I didn't gain any weight back. I tried keto which to me seems like a stricter version on paleo, and lost 5 lbs making the total 43 lbs lost. Keto was to hard to stick to, so now I currently eat a mostly paleo diet monday through friday, and on weekends sometimes i'll cheat if I'm going out with friends.

But you know, I'm happy, healthy, and I love myself and my body even though I'm not as skinny as I wish I was I'm actually ok with that.

ZUMBA and Pumps fitness rant

I have recently decided to see what all the fuss was about over Zumba. I joined a 6 week class and I fell in love with it ! It was so much fun and mostly easy to follow along with as well. There was one foot move that i kept messing up but on the 3rd week i finally was able to do it. Im so bummed my class is closing due to not enough people signing up and am trying to find a new class ASAP.  I would recommend everyone to try it out at least once it is so much fun!!

Now onto Pumps fitness rant - I recently decided to join a gym down in Wakefield Ma since thats where I work. I found Pumps fitness and liked that it was close to work and women only. The lady said because I live more than 15 miles away I could cancel at anytime, so instead of doing the no commitment membership i did the 2yr one since it was cheaper and i could cancel anytime i wanted to. When i signed up I was told at my consultation I would go over how to use the machines etc. I couldnt get a consultation for a month due to my work schedule and them not having openings when i was available. One day i mentioned to the lady working that its getting kind of boring only using 3 machines since i dont know how to use the rest and instead of saying oh can i show you one she also said at my consultation we would go over that..... ok...

2 weeks later i had my consultation finally. However she didnt show me any of the machines and when i mentioned it to her she said oh when you do the free personal training they will show you how too use them.

well a week later i met with a personal trainer and she had me doing squats etc and when i mentioned the machines she said she doesnt do that either... ummm wtf!!!

the next day when i went in i spoke to one of the managers who seemed nice and she told me to email the personal trainer about it so i emailed her and a week later she said she spoke to a different manager and that it will be a  $70 fee to show me the machines, and oh btw do you want to do personal training. At that point i was so mad and told her no im not paying for something i was told was included when i joined. she forwarded my email to a different manager who was so rude and snobby so i said well i had spoke to 5 different people they all kept saying someone else would do it, im not happy with how things were handled and i want to cancel my membership.

She tells me i cant cancel for 2yrs and i said well the other manager said i could since i live in a different town. she tells me i cant cancel unless i change jobs so i said well thats not what i was told and they need to have a meeting so everyone there is all on the same page about all the rules etc etc and she said she wont cancel my membership. She however doesnt know who she is messing with. I will be reporting them to the BBB. I will never recommend anyone to go to them ever again!!!

I'm back!

I've been MIA for a while mostly because i had nothing to say. I wasnt trying to lose weight (and luckily havent gained any more either!) However my 10 yr reunion from highschool is coming up in october *GASP* and now im ready to kick butt! still pissed my gym closed and that there isnt any on my way to work, or if they are then they are not open during the times i would need to go. I did however buy a gazelle off of amazon and I LOVE IT! its so much fun. however my problem is that i need to get into a routine of using it every day and stick to it. I dont snack and try to eat "healthy" meals although im sure my portion sizes could be better. But i think im finally determined to get skinny again! Why wouldnt we have had a 5 yr reunion like most schools. I was skinny then LOL. Contemplating joining weightwatchers online too since i dont want to go to the meetings. We shall see how this goes!

CLOSING????? wtf?

so yesterday i went back to the gym after only going once in the last 2 weeks...... i walk in and there talking about closing and im like wait this gym is closing and they said yes at the end of june.... and not only that but as of today the hours are now 7-6 instead of 530-8 which sucks because i have to be to work in wakefield by 7 at the latest and i dont get home until 6. and there not giving refunds either so the money was taken out of my bank account a few days ago for the month of june and since i cant go with the hour change im losing $39. soooo mad!!!!!!

weight and measurements

so yesterday was my weigh in day..... i gained 3 lbs, all my measurements have stayed the same except my thighs that went down 1 inch(although since it was a different person they prob measured wrong)  my BMI is 45% AHHH shes like for your age it should be 22% dont worry hun it will take a while but you will get that number down.... im like yea i know ive lost and gained weight numerous times it doesnt bother me, yea id ike to be skinny but id also like it to happen on its own like it did before without me exercising lol. granted i didnt have healthy eating habbits either - was practically starving myself lol. and i dont want to go that route again....

im doing so bad lol only went to the gym one day this week and hurt my back really bad so i skipped friday to have an extra day of rest... feeling better today, will def have to go monday as im suppose to get weighed and measured.... i know i wont see a difference yet (between missing 3 days and not eating that great) its like im going to the gym so that gives me a free pass to eat whatever i want.... really need to work on my thinking LOL.

went to the gym yesterday, used the squat machine and then could barely move all day it hurt my back. I guess im going to start skipping it like the other lady does. tomorrow is my weigh in day AHHH not looking forward to that, dont expect to see a difference yet. but miracles happen right? right? lol
